BWHA MISSION STATEMENT
The Buckeye Western Horse Association (BWHA) is an independent organization comprising of families and individuals desiring to promote horse-related activities, for both its members and the community within the Hancock County area. BWHA can do this through conducting a yearly AQHA horse show with proceeds going to help local 4-H Horse Clubs, horse department improvements on the Hancock County Fairground, and horse scholarship programs through the University of Findlay Equestrian Program.
BWHA has been proud to be putting on quality horse shows since 1942.
Buckeye Western is proud of its mission accomplishments throughout the years. Every year BWHA supports with cash donations to the Hancock County 4-H and County Fair programs.
- Hancock County 4-H puts on three Summer Fun Show which BWHA pays for the three judges.
- Supports five (5) 4-H clubs with a yearly donation.
- Sponsors five (5) class trophies during the county fair.
- Sponsors the Draft Horse Show, on Saturday, during the county fair.
- Supports the Hancock County Horse Council’s silent auction during the county fair.
- Puts on an Open Horse Show every year on Sunday during the county fair with added money.
- BWHA has a scholarship program with the University of Findlay’s Equestrian Program.
In all thanks to the proceeds from the BWHA Classic we donate over $4,000 each year.
But that’s not all, please visit our PROJECTS page on this website and see the history of improvements BWHA has made to the Hancock County Fairground over the decades.
Buckeye Western Horse Association could not do any of these things without your support during the BWHA Classic Show! THANK YOU!
